Welcome to my blog! My current project is Project 365. The challenge? Take at least one picture every day for 365 days. Take a look around and let me know what you think. Feedback is welcomed and appreciated. I'd love to hear from you! Please feel free to send me an email.

Day 327 {3,000 kms}

Unbelievable. Just under two months on the road and our new car has 3,000 kms on it already. And that's with me only working three days a week. They are going to be going on even faster now that I am back to full time.

Yep. Back to the boring inanimate objects again...sorry. Thanks for looking!

Day 326 {pantry bandits}

My sons and their favourite past time - raiding my nicely organized lazy susan and taking off with the Kraft Dinner. I can't begin to tell you how many fingers have been pinched in this damn thing over the years. I curse this thing every day and would not recommend putting one of these in to anybody.

While I was folding laundry, I suddenly noticed it was very quiet in the living room. In this house that's never a good thing. I turned around to discover the kids watching Handy Manny. Who is this mysterious latin man who can capture the attention of all three of my kids at one time? This may be the only reason we keep the Disney Playhouse channel after the free trial is up because the ten minutes that he occupied all three of them was AMAZING.

Here's my only other picture of the day. As you can see, Ethan still has the best Chandler Bing smile I have ever seen.

That was it. An uneventful day. Thanks for looking!

Day 325 {the holiday season begins}

Nothing too exciting happened today. We kicked off the holiday season with our first Christmas movie of the year: It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas.

Ava loved it. We're in a Muppet phase right now with Ava going crazy for Miss Piggy all because of this commercial:

You can only rewind and rewatch that commercial so many times so we went to the library today and borrowed this movie. Thanks for looking!

Day 324 {christmas shopping}

It was back to work this morning after an interesting night. Ethan is now sick and Owen threw up overnight resulting in new sheets and pajamas for both of us. As a result, I was slightly irritable again on the way to work. It didn't help that the trip to work felt like one long funeral procession.

Anyway, I found the guy in front of me highly entertaining on my way in. Seriously pal? Stanley Cup Champions?! The last time they won the Stanley cup I wasn't even a glimmer in my father's eye and they sure as hell didn't win it the year your 2000 Caravan rolled off the assembly line. Given this year's record you should tint your windows a little darker and slump down in your Leafmobile.

After work I headed to Zellers where apparently the lowest price is no longer the law now that Walmart has taken over. But they did have some good toy sales on, so now our shopping for Ava is complete.

After that it was off to King's Buffet for dinner. Happy 80th birthday Grandpa McDougall! Thanks for looking!

Day 323 {HolyCrapTheseReallyAreAmazing Cookies}

Not being one to give up, I rocked these cookies today in my second attempt. Not only did I switch to a lighter and thinner white corn syrup, but I pulled the pot from the stove just as the bubbles started to form, resulting in a creamier sauce. The verdict? Holy crap indeed. They would be a definite candidate for the cookie exchange I am in next week, however my mother has informed me that the name is not classy enough for her cookie exchange. ;)

Anyway, that was it for today and thus ends my three day work week until the new year as I return to work full time next week for the next two months. Thanks for looking!

Day 322 {snow tires}

Not much going on today. I was home with the kids and they kept me busy all day while I did laundry left and right. Here is one of the only pictures I took today: our snow tires that were put on yesterday. Are these sexy or what? Did you know that you can squeal snow tires? Don't ask how I know this, but apparently it is possible.

In unrelated news, does anybody watch General Hospital? It has been fantastic lately. It even got me to like an Adam Lambert song:

Damn you General Hospital. You took me from being totally indifferent to him to having this song in my head non-stop. Thanks for looking!

Day 321 {another baking disaster}

Another day, another baking disaster. Yesterday I came across a fantastic recipe for something called "HolyCrapTheseAreAmazing Cookies". They looked delicious and I had to make them right away, abandoning my whole no more baking for fear of gained pounds plan. They were no bake so how much easier could they get?

Yeah not the case. Apparently my full boil was a little too full so the corn syrup, sugar and peanut butter fused to the cornflakes like super glue. The result? 38 one and a half inch bullets you could fire out of a cannon and easily kill someone with.

Here's the recipe. As I would determine the next day:

this recipe + bubbles just starting to form = HolyCrapTheseAreAmazing Cookies

this recipe + crazy ass bubbles boiling and bubbling all over the place = homemade contact cement

Needless to say the entire batch went in the garbage.

Today was also an educational experience for me. Thanks to this picture on the People of WalMart site, I learned about a very real and very serious disease: Dunlap Disease. Thank you Bunker Bob for your informative comment and for adding this phrase to my vocabulary. ;)
