day 95 - the sunset chasers

The wind was bitterly cold today so rather than bike over to Nana's house, we drove. Anybody who knows where my parents live in relation to us knows that it takes longer to buckle three kids into car seats than it does to walk to their house, but whatever. It was too cold and I had one kid sans socks with a winter coat over a Superman costume (Owen).

ANYWAY. The kids and I went for a drive. Took a couple of pictures. Meh. Not much happening.

Then as luck would have it as I walked up my parents' driveway, the sun dipped below the horizon and the sky turned breathtaking shades of pink, orange and purple. Not having a decent picture of the day yet I ran full blast back to the van, jumped in and raced back to the edge of town to get this picture.

You'd think I was chasing a tornado or something.

I know how you drive and if I needed to chase tornadoes with anyone, guess who would be behind the wheel? This is a very beautiful shot.
