day 265 - happiness is a warm puppy

Monday, 31 October 2011

Oh. My. God. As if Maggie's house couldn't get any cooler, last week she added eight puppies into the mix.

They were absolutely adorable and I wanted to take them all home with me.

In fact, here's some footage of us leaving Maggie's place.

As usual, the visit at Maggie's house did not disappoint. There's always something to do and fun to be had by all.

day 263 - three little monkeys jumpin' on the bed

Hmmm. So I lost a day in here. I'm going to give myself a pass as I have been diligent for three years so I'll fill it in with another picture from this week.

This week we went bed shopping for Ava. You ever gone bed shopping with three kids five and under? Frustrating, but they seemed to enjoy themselves.

day 262 - jam on it

It appears I have inspired a movement. Sure you can call it "Blueberry Jam", but where's the fun in that?

Loves it!

day 261 - hundred dollar apples

It's that time again. Today was our annual trip to Chudleigh's apple farm for our hundred dollar apples. Sure, the apples are only $10, but the rest of the experience costs well over $100 by the time you add up admission, lunch, pony rides...

But there's tractors, a wagon ride, a petting zoo and the kids love it.

It's definitely more about the experience for me because honestly I'm not a big apple fan. I can take them or leave them.

Unless they are in the form of a caramel apple blossom. I'm on those like a fat kid on a smartie.

fabulous friday challenge

Thursday, 27 October 2011

Another busy week around here has kept me from posting last week's winners. Sorry guys - I promise to post two weeks of winners on Monday.

I haven't had much time to take photos lately. The whole getting dark early thing is really cutting into my photography time and the weekends have been pretty busy. I'm hoping to get out this weekend and get some "me" time.

Here's a shot of Ava I took a month ago. Have a great weekend and I can't wait to see what you came up with this week!

Just a reminder of the rules:

1. The picture has to be taken by you.
2. The picture has been taken during the past week and it can be a picture you have posted earlier in the week.
3. Link up using the link to your individual blog post and not your main blog address.
4. Please include the Fabulous Friday button (below) in your post to link back to my site.
5. Leave feedback for five other participants. Let them know what you think!
6. By linking up you are okay with me re-posting your photo here if you are chosen for the top five.

day 260 - mario and weegie

Monday, 24 October 2011

We're going old school now. A recent Photojojo newsletter sent me on a trip down memory lane, so tonight I picked up the Super Mario Brothers game for the Wii on the way home from work.

The kids have no idea what they're doing, but they are enjoying it and have been screaming "Let's a go!" all night.

day 259 - all hail the ringmaster

Friday, 21 October 2011

I don't usually detract from my usual order at Burger King. It's usually a whopper combo, no pickle, no onion.

Not sure what possessed me, but today I ordered The Ringmaster whopper. You know what? It wasn't bad. Still going back to my regular order, but it wasn't bad. I sure wasn't bent like this guy.

fabulous friday challenge

Good morning everyone! Welcome to another week.

Here is one of my favourite recent photos. I took this picture of Ethan a month ago at Chudleighs apple farm. The kids were petting animals in the petting zoo. Ethan LOVES animals and I think it comes across in this picture loud and clear. And by default there's some mischief in there. Go figure.

Now it's your turn.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Just a reminder of the rules:

1. The picture has to be taken by you.
2. The picture has been taken during the past week and it can be a picture you have posted earlier in the week.
3. Link up using the link to your individual blog post and not your main blog address.

day 258 - rest in peace

Thursday, 20 October 2011

I'm not a religious person and days like this remind me why.

The world lost a wonderful woman today.

It's funny how the world works. While one family is hurting, life goes on and keeps moving around them. With that in mind, I didn't take a picture today. It just didn't seem appropriate.

Rest in peace, Linda.

Love you, Mel and Craig. xo

day 257 - sunset come and we don't wanna go home

School open house night.

Overall it went...okay. One thing is evident. My boys are not ready for school and the school is not ready for my boys.

# of children who did a face plant in the gym horsing around: 1 (Owen)

# of children who had to be pulled from the indoor inflatable bouncy castle because they wouldn't follow the rules: 2 (take a wild guess)

# of children carried kicking and screaming from the school because they didn't want to leave: 2 (Ethan and Owen)

Anyway, not all doom and gloom. Ava was quite happy to show us around and show us the ins and outs of senior kindergarten.

day 256 - sting like a bee

I have managed to go through the past 30+ years never having been stung by a bee. This year they are everywhere, they are aggressive and yesterday poor Ethan got stung.

Here he is showing me his bee sting.

(Not flipping me the bird.)
