The Birthday Party

Yesterday was Ava's first birthday party. It was a fun watching her rip into her cake. Pictures coming - I have recently started back to work and there aren't enough hours in the day anymore. I hope to get some up tomorrow night.

Jen - I would love to check out the video of Ava enjoying her first taste of birthday cake, but for some reason the video doesn't work for me. When I click on play, I get the message "Loading...." Yet, when I click on other videos you've posted in the past they work fine. I thought I'd let you know. Maybe it's just me, I don't know ;-)

Thanks for letting me know, Sheri. This is strange - it works for me at home and at work. I checked it on the computers at the library and two of them work no problem but the third doesn't. But it doesn't play any YouTube clips from my blog period. I made a small change though - is it working now? Thanks!

Whatever you did, it worked! She sure looks like she had lots of fun with that cake once she got her hands in it!

Thanks, Sheri! I am so glad to hear that it worked. She did have a great time. It took me stuffing her hands in the cake to get her going but once she started, there was no stopping her. Once the cake started flying the fun was over and it was bath time. :) How are you making out with Alyssa's invitations?

I think Alyssa will be the same way - not sure what to do.

As for Alyssa's invitations. I got my scallop punch last week (I love it) so I created a first "draft" of the invitation. I needed to look at it for a few days before deciding if I liked the colour combos, etc. I am using Cool Caribbean, Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink and Whisper White. Then tonight I made up my mind and decided to go with it and started to assemble the invites. I'll post a picture on my blog after her birthday party - which is almost a month away now! Yikes!
