Day 108 {bowling}

Yesterday was so much fun. My sister and I took Ava bowling for the first time. It took us 2 frames and at least a half an hour just to convince her to get the shoes on, but she finally did. The lighting was horrible, but what can you do?

I love these socks and intentionally put them on her in the morning should the opportunity for a shot like this present itself.

The very brief lesson (big thanks to my sister for the fabulous photos. She always know exactly what to take pictures of and they are always amazing).

In no time she was bowling all by herself.

She was even getting a little bit of a strut on.

She was doing quite well but got tired pretty quickly. One of the balls ended up going so slow it actually started to roll back down the alley toward us.

Another shot by Mel. Check the speed of Ava's last shot. :)

After having to rescue our dead ball several times, one of the employees asked us if we would like a ramp. How cool is this thing? I had no idea such a thing existed.

Of course what trip to the bowling alley would be complete without beverages?

The total cost for one game? $17.50. Unbelievable considering a good chunk of this was the shoe rental and these shoes probably cost $0.50 a pair when they were bought back in 1950.

Anyway, it was a great day and a fun time was had by all.

Thanks for looking!

Great shots, Jen & Melissa! It's nice to have someone who thinks like you and gets the shots you would've gotten! I need someone like that around here :)

Ava looks like she's having a great time, even if it took her awhile to warm up to the idea. I use to love going bowling, but haven't been in a few years.

Thanks for a fantastic time, Jen and Ava! It's always a good time out with the McDougall girls!

My favourite part of the ride there? Ava telling me to "duck down" and "duck up" in the car. Such a cutie!

That really looked like so much fun! I love bowling, and what a great idea to bring Ava. I've never thought of that, but Linus, who is 4, would probably enjoy it too!
Great pictures!
