Day 131 {gardening}

Today was a work day. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures and was worried on my way home about what on earth I was going to take pictures of. I should have taken a picture of the delicious desserts on the lunch table this afternoon. The delicious eclairs that I didn't eat any of. Outstanding. Thank you Janie for telling me they were stale and inedible. You are the worst liar I know, but I appreciate it. Pretending you were sick to your stomach shortly after eating was a nice touch.

Luckily enough my dad took pictures today and gave me a disk when I got to their house tonight. My mom and dad picked up Ava today and did some gardening with her while Jason and I were at work. Thanks Dad for taking these great pictures.

Even though my dad took pictures today, I still didn't want to miss a day. This is where I went after work. A 45 minute massage with nobody banging on the door or screaming at me. Unfortunately it was painful at times due to a shoulder problem I'm having, but it was still relaxing.

The best thing that happened today? Owen gave me a kiss for the first time. He leaned right in and gave me a big kiss right on my lips. It was by far the highlight of my day. He then went on to do it another ten times, giving me a big smile each time as he goobered all over me. Life doesn't get much better than this.

Anyway, Karen E asked what my secret was to losing 6 lbs. I'm glad to share:

1. Don't get on the scale for at least three weeks.

2. Get yourself a set of twins. Boys. Ones that climb. I have a set you can borrow.

3. Make sure you eat when the boys are loose. It's easier to fill up faster when you are constantly interrupted and running away from your plate. Cold food is also less appetizing. Which reminds me - when you leave your plate unattended, make sure it's high up. They will try to trick you as one will create a diversion and the other will make a break for it. DON'T FALL FOR IT.

4. Contract the stomach flu. Not the swine variety - just the good old fashioned kind.

5. Several days after the wrap of the flu, weigh yourself and you will be amazed with the results.

Seriously though. :) I've cut down on my portion sizes and am walking every night. I'm putting less sugar in my tea, I don't snack and I don't eat anything after 8 pm. If I could do the 8 glasses of water a day thing, I'd be a lot more successful, but I find that the hardest part.

Hope you all had a great day. Thanks for looking!

You are so right Jen. I don't have a set of twins but running after them can definetly help you tone your muscles. You look great!
I too have had that horrible flu bug. It isn't pretty and although it is true you loose weight, I wouldn't recommend it. It's nasty!!
Melissa has a great Apple download you can use to track your weight goals. It keeps track of your caloric intake as well as your exercise plan.
Keep doing what you are doing you look fantastic .
Love Mom

Thanks jen for sharing again today and thanks to your Dad for taking pictures of Ava dardening. they are awesome. Do hope that the massage has helped your shoulder. I can imagine that it is sore when you have two to carry/hold and one tugging! Thanks for the tips on the weight loss. You are doing VERY well and it shows! I might have to borrow the boys. Yikes! I will have to practice running first so please don't drop them off today ;)

Way to go on your weight loss Jennifer! Smaller portions really do help. I'm giving that a try. And weight training at the gym. I don't want to lose weight, I want to lose fat and inches.

Keep up the great work, Jen - you look fabulous! I don't know how you do it.

Saw Ava while she was gardening with Mom and Dad - way too cute. She must have had 10 times as much dirt on her hands when I saw her in comparison to the pic that Dad took. Nothing on her clothes though - great gardener and quite a little character!
