day 217 {visiting nan}

Today I went to visit my grandmother in the hospital as she broke her hip on Monday and had surgery on it yesterday. :( She looked pretty good and was in good spirits so that was nice to see. She even cracked a few jokes.

I always have mixed feelings when I enter this hospital. I gave birth to my three beautiful children on the sixth floor of this hospital. We drove back and forth to this hospital for 11 days to see the twins and do four feedings each day in the special care nursery. But it is also the hospital where I gathered with my family around my other grandmother's hospital bed and watched her die less than a week after being diagnosed with cancer. Anyway, it's always a mixed bag when I go there. I was just relieved to see that she was doing pretty well considering the circumstances.

This is the only picture I took today. Thanks for looking!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Nan. Hospitals certainly leave us with emotions at both ends of the spectrum.

Hi Jen,

You are right, seeing that hospital did bring back memories. But Mom received such special care from their devoted staff while she was there. I am sure your Grandmother is in good hands and she'll be back on her feet in no time.

Love
