day 214 - riverside park $

Riverside Park is one of the kids' favourite places to go. It's got lots of stuff for them to do, the rides aren't expensive and we can go on the rides with them. Today we went there for a picnic with Nana & Grandad.

I've been going to this park since I was a little kid and have taken a lot of pictures there over the past few years. The only problem is it's getting harder and harder to find different shots that I haven't taken before. I've taken lots of shots of the kids on the carousel horses, on the playground, photos of the train, photos of the signs, closeups of the carousel horses...the list goes on and on. So this time I tried to get some different ones and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.

I love the mural on the side of carousel. It's beautiful and other than taking boring shots of the full mural I haven't really taken many pictures of it or incorporated it into a portrait so I came up with these:

I also have a shot of Ava and I standing in front of this mural each year since she was born but I looked back through them and I was a good 30 pounds heavier in the summer after she was born. I don't wish to relive that weight so I will not be posting them. ;)

So it was a really good day. I just wish that when I went out to water my hanging baskets at the end of it, my children hadn't locked me out of the house. They do it every day and it's getting kind of old. ;)

It looks like a great park! I love the mural too.
You better hide a key outside and give them a surprise when you can get back in. :)
