Every day I ask Ava what she did at school and she tells me "nothing". With the exception of the day she was the star student (she told me about that), almost all of the information I have gotten to this point has been through other people. The day she won the award for the silliest costume the girl who walks her home from school told me. The days she has assemblies I hear about them from my sister or another parent. Then last week it was my dad who told me that he saw Ava's class at the post office and that she had written and mailed a letter to herself while she was there.
