day 335 - the last straw

This past week has been hell. The stomach flu has ripped through this house like wildfire but the kids have also been on a bad streak and it hasn't slowed them down one bit.

When they broke the charger for my laptop I was irritated. When they broke a switch plate cover in the living room I said "boys will be boys".

When they had the hand eye coordination to unscrew one of the screws on the dinette light switch and take off with it I was surprised.

And when Owen barfed on my boots at the Christmas parade I brushed it off and thought "Oh well. This is a part of the Mom experience."

But this?! This is NOT COOL.

On Tuesday night I chased the boys back into their beds many times. Things got quiet and I assumed they were asleep so I fell asleep on the couch only to find this when I went upstairs to bed at midnight.

Green acrylic craft paint all over the walls. Hand prints and streaks of paint on the carpet. On three white doors. On multiple areas of white trim. On almost every spindle on the stairs. On the wall opposite this wall. On the foot board of our sleigh bed. On toys and books in Ava's room. On Ava's wall. On the wall going down the stairs.

And two little boys slept peacefully in their room, one on the bed and one under it, sleeping angelically with their solid green hands pressed together almost as if praying under their little cheeks.

I don't even know what to say anymore except to ask my boys that the next time you do something like this, MAKE SURE YOU USE WASHABLE PAINT because this paint is not.

Poor Jen. You have a lot more patience than I did when my twins were small. But I have to say your boys seem to be more inquisitive than mine were. Maybe they were just afraid of the wrath of Cindy.

Miss you and your wit so much at FL. Have a wonderful holiday with your family.

love,
Cindy(psp)

Uh oh! That's bad. Holy moly mother of all twins bad. Nothing a few cans of paint and some elbow grease won't fix, but . . . Saint Jennifer!
