When I was a kid, we got to see our Santa presents and then it was straight to the table for breakfast. We weren't allowed to open the rest of our presents until we had eaten and the only reason we got the Santa gifts is because they were unwrapped under the tree. The rules were never bent and every year it was the same.
Now that I have my own kids those rules went out the window and it's presents first, breakfast later. The rules may have changed but the breakfast hasn't. Every year for breakfast we have the same thing I had every year growing up: pepperpot and homemade bread.
Santa hasn't changed either. He still brings the odd shaped presents he's too lazy to wrap. Against his better judgment, he showed up this year. Apparently he has a sense of humour.
