day 9 - the king's speech

Sigh. You're still looking pretty good, Mr. Firth. While rocking a kilt at Balmoral is no comparison to rocking a ruffled shirt at Pemberly, I can roll with it.

I remember the first time I saw Pride & Prejudice, I wanted to kill myself. Then suddenly around the third hour (yep, it's a long one - six hours), you became strangely hot. Fast forward 15 years and you're still looking pretty good. I would know - I was in the second row and was able to see right up your nose. No double chin, no wrinkles, not too shabby at all. I would say you still sit firmly in the number two position after Hugh Jackman. Just please god don't go on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Not everyone can rock an eye patch.

(I should also add that while you are no match for Hugh Jackman in leather Wolverine pants, he is one can-can away from getting toppled from the list, so there is hope for you.)

Today I went with good friends to see The King's Speech. It was awesome. Loved it. I don't usually buy into the Academy Awards hype, but if Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush don't win Oscars, I will be surprised.

It was a great movie and the company and the desert afterward was even better. Thanks ladies!

If Colin Firth came up to me and asked for a roll in the hay, I'd (ask my bf first) say yes. Immediately. P&P would have been painful without him. And the random lake swimming scene? Pure fan-service I say. It's almost like the writers were like "Hang on a minute, we've got COLIN FIRTH. there's a BLOODY LAKE.. Screw literary integrity. Jane Austen, I'm taking some liberty."

And I like to think Jane Austen approved and wishes shed thought of that scene herself. But you know. Regency era. Wasn't done.

Have a great one! x http://xNTA.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the movie recommendation. I'll be sure to check it out.

The foil wrapped van? Ha! I can't imagine how many rolls of foil it took to wrap that van. When I first drove by it, I almost gave myself whiplash getting a second look. I changed lanes, drove around the block, parked my truck, hopped out, and started taking pictures. Laughing the whole time.

So glad you stopped by for a visit.

I keep hearing how good this movie is. I really loved everything about the A&E version of P&P. Colin Firth could not have been more perfect for the part of Mr. Darcy.

I enjoyed looking back through your blog. I love the hands in the rain shot! I'm following now. :)

Thanks Magi, I really appreciate it.

Chocolate and bacon together sounds kind of different but I love both of those things so I'd give it a try.

Hope you enjoyed the movie. I loved it!
