day 93 - the waiting game

This afternoon the kids and I spread peanut butter on pine cones and dipped them in birdseed. At 5:30 we went outside without coats and through the backyard which was soggy but had very little snow left in it. Two hours later there was three inches of fresh snow on the ground and white everywhere. Bah.

Anyway, before the snow storm hit the kids perched on the back of the couch and stared out the window watching for birds.

Here's Ava.

As you can see she was getting bored.

This picture also tells a lot about her at this age. She insists on not only dressing herself but doing her own hair. She is currently working on pig tails.

Nathalie and Marco love filling up our "bird feeder" in the backyard, but they quickly become squirrel feeders and we just sit there and watch the squirrels empty it out in a couple of hours. The kids don't seem to care who eats the stuff. I love the picture!

That's such a cute picture. :) We live in a high rise, so the only bird-watching we get to do are the eagles soaring in their early morning hunt for food. :)

Is it sad that I do the same thing - watch the feeder for birds (not the pigtails) - and I'm well, a lot older than Ava and you and...
Great picture:-)
