A few more from the beach

Sunday, 31 August 2008

Owen and the hat bearing a striking resemblance to the cowboy from the Village People. Hey wait a minute - is that a slight bum chin I see? Score one point for my side of the family in the genes department as my dad has one too...

Ethan playing with his godmother/cousin Erica. You know as odd as it was at the time to have the people beside us sit in a big line facing us, I actually like them in the background...

Thanks for looking!

The conversation

Friday, 29 August 2008

Here are some pictures of Ethan sitting with his Auntie Gail at the beach. It's looks like they were having quite the conversation.

When I look at this next picture the words of the immortal Sir Mix-a-Lot come to mind. It looks like they are gossiping and Ethan is saying "Oh. My. God. Becky. Look at her butt. It is so big."

What a little charmer...

Sunset fun

Thursday, 28 August 2008

Here are some pictures of Ava playing with her Auntie M on the beach last Wednesday. The sun was starting to set and they were having so much fun that I decided to abandon my usual approach of getting right up their nose and sat back and watched.

The plan...

The attempt...

The landing. This is my favourite as my sister's head is thrown back as Ava has undoubtedly said something hilarious.

Ava & the kittens

Tuesday, 26 August 2008

On Sunday, we went to one of Ava's favourite places - Aunt Karen & Uncle Jack's farm. She is such an animal lover so when their daughter's boyfriend Jason called and invited us out to see the new kittens in the barn I jumped at the chance. I was really surprised because although she loves animals, she's pretty cautious around them and I never thought she would hold one. I was wrong. She was scared for the first minute or so and then began picking them up and holding them with no problems at all.

Judging by the kitten's claws in this shot it wasn't so sure about Ava...

Peeking through the barn door. Big thanks to Jason for the suggestion and for helping me set this shot up. It took a lot of tries and a lot of smarties to get this shot and I am very happy with how it turned out. Thanks, Jason!

One of the six kittens...

Looking out at the cows from an open door up in the barn...

Watching and waving at Ava's cousin Melanie on the tractor...

Holding the kittens...

This picture kind of freaks me out in b/w. The light shining through the gaps in the wood reminds me of Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Almost like you expect to see a UFO on the other side. The colour shot has a very different feel to it...

Thanks for looking and a big thank you to Jason, Melanie, Karen & Jack for a great time.

A few from the beach

Monday, 25 August 2008

Here are a few pictures from the beach last Wednesday. This summer we have done a few day trips that have provided me with many blasts from the past. Last weekend we visited my cousin at my aunt and uncle's cottage and had a great time. These pictures were taken on the same beach that I have very fond memories of as a child.

More from the wedding

Saturday, 23 August 2008

Here are some more shots from my sister's wedding.

Ava in the courtyard...

The flowers...

My mom and I. It doesn't really look like either of us due to the angle, but I only have one chin so it'll do... :)

The first dance...

My sister and my dad...

The wedding

Monday, 18 August 2008

I can't believe three weeks has passed since my last post. Things have been crazy here between my sister's wedding, the boys' christening and the general day to day stuff around here.

Without further ado, here are some pictures from my sister's wedding the end of July.

My beautiful sister and her wonderful new husband...

Newly married, circling the town in the Dart...

Awww...my mom and dad...

The rearview mirror of the Dart...

The rings...

More to come tomorrow. Thanks for looking!
