Day 337 {cassareep}

Another sign of the Christmas season in my family. The most important ingredient in my grandmother's pepper pot: cassareep. Making her pepper pot is an art and to make it the way she used to make it means you have to use this brand. Not exactly something you can find at the grocery store downtown. You have to get it from a West Indian store. I asked one of my suppliers a few months ago if he could get some for me and when I received samples from a print job the other day, I was surprised to find four bottles in the bottom of the box. Now it's starting to feel a little bit more like Christmas.
